Speaker(s):
Ir. Abdul Hamid Batubara, MBA (President Commissionaire of PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia) and Susilo Siswoutomo (Former Vice Minister of Energy and Resources of Indonesia)
Date & Time: Wednesday, October 28th, 2015 from 6PM to 10PM
Venue: The Consulate General of Indonesia, 2nd Floor
Mr. Batubara emphasized the fundamental key that needs to be achieved is to achieve and maintain a strong national energy security. He further addressed the current interesting situation, where newly discovered blocks that have been bid do not contribute to increase in the national reserve. He also pointed out the almost similar curves that Indonesia and PT. CPI have been having in terms of petroleum production. Mr. Siswoutumo, who surprised everyone at the seminar by arriving at the middle of the event, confirms what Mr. Batubara had previously addressed, which emphasized the needs of new reserve exploration. This needs to be supported by simplification of the approval processes. He mentioned that one major improvement that can be taken by the current system is to make a clear distinction between dealing with oil and gas companies and with nonoil and gas companies.
